Two Important Texas Bills

Two important Texas bills currently in process:
HB 2816
C.S.H.B. 2816 amends the Health and Safety Code to require a physician performing or inducing an abortion, on the date the abortion is performed, to have active admitting privileges at a hospital that is located not more than 30 miles from the location at which the abortion is performed or induced and that provides obstetrical or gynecological health care services.
After a public hearing last week, HB 2816 is pending in the House State Affairs Committee.

HB 2364:
The bill establishes a compelling state interest in protecting the lives of babies who feel pain, and therefore, prohibits elective abortions at twenty weeks post-fertilization.
The Texas Preborn Pain Bill was left pending in the House State Affairs Committee, which is expected to vote on this vital Pro-Life legislation next week.
