Statement

The Pregnancy Help Center opened its doors in July 1986, It was founded by a group of concerned citizens in the Fort Worth community who saw a need to provide information and counsel to women experiencing unplanned pregnancies. Today, the PHC ministers to the whole woman, her children and her family. Through our various programs, PHC endeavors to meet the physical, social, emotional and spiritual needs of the women in our community.

The Mental Toll of Abortion

In a recent article, Jeanne Monahan writes about the emotional toll that women suffer resulting from an abortion. Here at the Pregnancy Help Center, we give women who are considering an abortion as much information as we have available, and having held post abortion classes here for many years, we are well aware of the downside of an uninformed decision.
According to Ms. Monahan's article, a study published by the British Journal of Psychiatry, showed a high percentage of women who have had an abortion are at an increased risk for mental problems.
